Who's Bright Idea Was This?
So what are your thoughts on the gem of a movie depicting our hometown...?
My understanding was that there was some thing about documenting the leather industry from its beginning to its present days in Peabody. If there is a further thing of its residents and current day then let it happen. I like history and welcome the good and bad of it. Why stop what we seem to know or do not know for future prosperity . Why hide any thing when it is or was the truth.
I think the "director" may have pulled one over on the city administration...and that these "supportive comments" are from peaple associated with the movie. Our city gets enough bad press. If you don't like it, leave.
You want to focus on an issue, focus on why SAT scores are lower than the state average. Focus on the city-wide drug problem. Focus on the mess that Bonfanti left this city in.
This movie is an embarrassment. We have a new mayor who is trying re-establish Peabody as a great place to live. And you have these dirtballs making an obscene movie and making us look like idiots. Thank God this movie will never get picked up
Is that Niz at the beginning? WHAT A FOOL! This movie is sickening and the movie makers are using us to make us look like fools. I say boycott this movie. Mr. Mayor what are going going to do about this? I thought you said during the campaign against Mr. Fitzgerald that you were going to bring the pride back.
Bonfanti should have checked more into it. These move guys played Peabody for a bunch of freaking fools. This is going to be really embarrassing when it goes into movie theaters. Everyone will think that Peabody is as bad as Lynn or Lawrence thanks to these aholes.
Hey I was in that movie and I think it is great. It shows Peabody the way it really is. I am proud to have been a part of it and I am a Peabody native. Face it people, it is really like they portray it in the movie. When I was at Peabody High all of the janitors were like that, Niz is GREAT in the movie. He gets back at Bonfanti for being an ass and taking away his job. You are all losers if you don't think this is a great movie.
The director Joel told me you are all a bunch of tools for falling for this and letting him film your crappy town. He's making alot of money off this and there is nothing any of you losers can do about it.
Nice job by Jarvis and Croce on Make the Call on this subject tonight. Did not know that Peabody taxpayers paid for the privilege of allowing them to degrade Peabody. Nice going former Mr. Mayor.
Looks like there is decent production quality and a typical HS teen story to follow. Good for the kids who made it. Kudo's!!!
ReplyDeleteWho let these goons into our high school to tape this filth?

ReplyDeleteThe guy at the beginning sure resembles someone associated with Peabody sports...can't quite put my finger on it though.

ReplyDeleteGreat Another reason for people to make fun of Peabody. What is wrong with people?
ReplyDeleteF THESE GUYS! DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE. IT IS TRASH AND ITS NOT VERY GOOD
ReplyDeleteThe city definitely gave them permission. Another thing to include in the disgraceful Bone-fanti legacy.
ReplyDeleteWhat the F! This BS movie will not help the new mayor change attitudes about Peabody.
ReplyDeleteLooks like something high school film students might do with daddy's super8 camera.
ReplyDeleteThey lied to get what they wanted. Probably cannot blame Bonfanti for this. He might have been duped.
